How To Reset Your Gps

Ugh, have you ever felt lost without your GPS? Then this is the article for you!! If you've noticed that your location accuracy is a little bit off, here is a quick way to reset your GPS settings

  1. There are 2 ways you can access the settings menu in order to reset your gps signal
      1. First method is via the hamburger menu on your map page
          1. To reach the gps reset page through the 1st method, it will be a 2 step process ( Tap ----> Tap settings)
      2. Second method is via the gear icon on your my projects page
          1. To reach the gps reset page via the 2nd method, it will be a 1 step process. Simply tap the gear icon
  2. Whichever method you choose, you will end up on the settings page, which looks like this:

  3. Half way down the page and under the location section, you will see the option to
    "Reset GPS"
  4. Tap  IMG_4836
  5. Once you tap reset GPS, there will be a pop up window that confirms it is being reset

  6. After the reset is complete, you will see another pop up on your screen that confirms the process has run its course
  7. Once the gps has been reset it will by default be turned off, so the final step in this process is to turn it back on!
            1. First you will need to navigate to the project map page that looks like this
            2. Next you will need to tap the arrowhead icon in the upper right portion of your screen

NOTE: This arrowhead will be outlined in green as you see pictured below, when GPS signal has pinpointed your location

            3. If you are on-site you will see exactly where you are standing in relation to the project
                1. If you are off site, the map will snap to show you you're exact location, wherever that may be in the world
                2. All you have to do to return to the center of the project is tap the cross-hair icon

NOTE: When the cross-hair is directly centered on your location, the arrowhead will be fully colored OnStation Green

And once you start to navigate the map and move the cross-hair from the exact spot you are standing in, the arrowhead will revert to being just an outline. Do not panic, this is normal and does not mean you have lost signal 😉

Just like that you have successfully reset your GPS, turned it back on and significantly improved your location accuracy in a matter of minutes! Well done
