You can still submit a project, even if you don't have your alignment data ready. With Google Earth, you can draw your alignment on the map.
1. Go to earth.google.com, and click on File in the top-left-hand corner.
2. Select New local KML file.
3. Name your project.
4. You can use the zoom tools on the map to find your project's location on Google Earth.
5. Select Draw line or shape. Now, using your mouse or trackpad, you can draw a line or shape on the map that shows your alignment.
6. After you're done drawing, click enter, and give your alignment a name in the Title field.
7. Now you're ready to publish your KML file. First click the back button, and then click on the File in the top-left-hand corner and select Export as KML file. Your new KML file will be downloaded to your computer.
7. You're all done with Google Earth! Now go to the OnStation website, and select Submit Project.
8. Enter your project's details in the provided fields, and make sure to put your start stationing value in the Additional Comments/Notes field. We'll take it from there. ✅
