Troubleshooting App Performance

App Performance, Memory, and Device Requirements

If you’re experiencing issues like the app restarting, maps freezing, or features not loading correctly, your device’s available memory (RAM) or storage space may be a factor.
Our app relies on maps, live location, and real-time updates, which require sufficient device resources to run smoothly.
Check out the support information below for your device

Apple iPhone

Recommended Device Memory:

Memory (RAM)

RAM is the temporary working memory your phone uses while apps are open.

  • Minimum supported: 4 GB RAM
  • Recommended: 6–8 GB RAM or more
  • Best experience: 8 GB+ RAM

Devices with lower RAM may experience:

  • App reloads when switching screens or apps
  • Map resets or missing map tiles
  • Lag, freezing, or unexpected crashes
  • Navigation or live tracking stopping in the background

Note: iPhones automatically manage RAM. If memory is limited, iOS may close apps to free space, even while you’re using them.

How to Check Memory (RAM) on iPhone:

Apple does not show live RAM usage directly on iPhones. However, you can check your device’s RAM by identifying your iPhone model.

Step 1: Find your iPhone model

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap General
  3. Tap About
  4. Look for Model Name

Step 2: Check RAM by model

Once you know your model, you can search online its RAM specifications (for example: iPhone 11 = 4 GB RAM, iPhone 13 Pro = 6 GB RAM, etc.).

Storage Space Requirements:

Storage is the long-term space used for apps, photos, downloads, and cached data.

  • Minimum free storage: 5-10 GB
  • Recommended free storage: 10%–20% free space

Low storage can cause:

  • Slow loading
  • Maps not caching properly
  • Offline features failing
  • App updates not installing correctly

How to Check Storage on iPhone:
  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap General
  3. Tap iPhone Storage

Here you can see:

  • Total storage
  • Used storage
  • Available storage
  • Which apps are using the most space

If storage is low, consider:

  • Deleting unused apps
  • Offloading photos/videos to iCloud
  • Removing large files or downloads

Tips to Improve Performance

If you’re running into issues:

  • Close other apps running in the background
  • Restart your device
  • Ensure iOS is up to date
  • Avoid running multiple map or navigation apps at the same time
  • Keep adequate free storage available
